I'm excited and grateful to announce that my short play "Forest Bride" is being published by Methuen Drama/Bloomsbury Publishing in the upcoming anthology The Future Is Short: Contemporary Plays for High School and College Students!
I wrote this piece while in graduate school at UT Austin back in 2020 as part of the HIVE program. The brainchild of Mitchell Thomas at Westmont College, HIVE pairs undergraduate Westmont directors with graduate-student playwrights from across the country to develop new work in a bakeoff-style format. "Forest Bride" is my riff on the Bigfoot mythos, and will be published alongside other selected HIVE plays from over the years, many of them penned by my friends and colleagues. Seeing as the collection was curated by Mitchell and Liz Engelman, and has glowing blurbs from Lynn Nottage, Naomi Izuka, David Henry Hwang, Kirk Lynn, and Steven Dietz, it's a true honor to be included. And as an added bonus, Bloomsbury is now the home for my nonfiction book Radiohead FAQ. The Future Is Short comes out September 3rd, and you can read all about it—and preorder it--here!
