The Tusk Hunters at the cell / NYSCA Grant!

It's time! The residency for my play The Tusk Hunters is upon us!

I've spent the past two weeks rehearsing/devising/creating at the cell's beautiful Chelsea performance space with director Dina Vovsi, puppet director Betsy Rosen, and an ace team of actors and puppeteers (Savidu Geevaratne, Aaaron Haskell, Nick Lehane, Erik Lochtefeld, Jens Rasmussen, and Eric Wright). We now have the beginnings of a full-scale woolly mammoth puppet that we're showcasing this Tuesday, February 10th, at 7 p.m. (338 W 2rd St) We'll be sharing some excerpts from the play, accompanied by several puppetry demonstrations.

Huge amounts of gratitude to Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre, who have proven to be absolute dream collaborators and facilitators. And big thanks to New York State Council on the Arts, who generously awarded us a $10,000 grant that's helped make this a reality.
